Signs a Car needs an Oil Service

Cars produce a lot of different sounds, and between the sounds of the road and the radio, it can be difficult to separate what is noise and what isn’t. Normal vs severe service, what maintenance schedule do you follow

Have you ever looked in you owners? Let me be a little more clear, have you ever taken time to look at the manufacture recommend maintenance schedule in your owner manuel? In most owners manuals usually toward the back of the book you will find recommend services for your vehicle. You will actually find two maintenance schedules for each mileage interval. In most manuals you will find Normal maintenance schedule and severe maintenance schedule. You would think you fall into the normal schedule but in most cases this is no so. In California we do a lot of stop and go driving and quick runs to the store or market. This type of driving is the hardest on the vehicle. This type of driving is considered severe service on the vehicle. You should be following the severe guide in your owner’s manual. Normal vs severe service, what maintenance schedule do you follow

Reliable fleet service comes down to a few key items. The first and most important item is keep the fleet up and on the road with as little down time as possible. The second most important fleet items is ease of use. The finally the third most important fleet item is a reasonable price. Let me address each item individually. Keeping your fleet up and running is the key to you making money. Every hour that vehicle is not in service it is money flung out the window. Extended warranty

Extended warranty

Dealerships want you to believe that your extended warranties can only be used at the dealership. In most cases you can use your extended warranties or service contract at the repair facility of your choice. If you like the dealership you get your extended warranties serviced at, that is great. Sometimes the service you get at a dealership can be less than amazing. I know for instance at our shop we work hard to make the customer experience a great one. Like they always say read the fine print, if you’re unhappy with the service you’re receiving look at your contract and see what it says about where you can have your car serviced. If you need some assistance we would be more than happy to look at it for you. What does an extended warranty usually cover? Well that is a loaded question. All warranties are different. Often time when you are sold the warranty you have options on the coverage you are buying. The contract usually will spell out what is cover ... read more
